オレンジ本 第6章 Writing an Article for Publication
本日は、疲れた頭や心を休めるため、オレンジ本に手を付けました。
タイトル通り、第6章 論文投稿のための執筆活動についてです。
まさに今、データを2例増やして、雑誌に投稿するために英文校閲に出そうかというところ。
そこで、ピッタリな内容なのでメモがてらこちらに書き留めることにしました。
まずは印象的な言葉の引用から。

A query letterとは？
雑誌投稿に当たって編集者に出す手紙、のようなものらしい。
これまで聞いたことがないので、メモとして残しておきます。

Writers write query letters to propose writing ideas.
For example, a standard requested format could be approximately 200 - 400 words, expressing the following information:
The topic of the work
A short description of the plot
A short bio of the author
The target audience
The literary agent would then decide whether to contact the author and request to see the manuscript, based on the contents of the query letter.
In this sense, the query letter is an author's first step towards getting his/her manuscript published.」
